Flatscreen pop up lift mount
I read a instructable about hiding a flatscreen TV behind a wooden cabinet using an electric TV lift system.
This seems like a nice sollution, but my DIY instinct says that this could be done in a cheaper and more do-it-yourself fashion.
So how can this be done?
One sollution could be to build some kind of wooden hydraulic scissor lift system, operated by a foot pedal. Like so:

Ot maybe you could make something out of a discarded office chair lift. But the problem there would be to control the lowering, and the speed of the rise.

No real sollution here, and without TV, cabinet and somewhere to live I can’t really try anything, but post a comment if you think or try something out!
UPDATE: I did some illustrations of a possible sollution using tackles and wire and a foot pedal.
Or you could use the same approach using just a winch. This could make a great industrial/steam punk theme!
